Jessica Hobson

The Yoga Foundation has supported vulnerable and at-risk groups with yoga for over 15 years, delivering trauma-informed yoga and supporting recovery through breath, movement and mindfulness. YFG has proudly partnered with Jessica Hobson and her team since our inception in 2021, funding initiatives that expand their reach and impact.

Our most recent grant to The Yoga Foundation has helped launch a new training workshop designed to equip yoga teachers with the knowledge and skills to create trauma-aware classes that are safe and supportive.

Second content block heading: Introduction to Trauma-Aware Yoga - a new workshop

For the first time, The Yoga Foundation is sharing its expertise in trauma-informed yoga with the wider teaching community. The Introduction to Trauma-Aware Yoga workshop is a three-hour interactive session that bridges modern neuroscience with ancient yoga philosophy. It provides teachers with the tools to recognise signs of trauma, apply trauma-informed principles and integrate these approaches into their teaching.

Led by highly experienced facilitators, workshop is designed for all yoga teachers—whether they work with at-risk groups or the general public. Trauma and mental health challenges are present in every community, and this training ensures that teachers are prepared to offer an inclusive, supportive practice that fosters healing and resilience.

This initiative is a significant step toward making trauma-aware yoga more accessible, reinforcing The Yoga Foundation’s shared commitment with YFG to use yoga as a tool for positive change. The goal is to train 80 teachers each year.
